JOIN US FOR WORSHIP:
Sundays – Worship with Eucharist - 10:45 a.m. @ LUC (Breakfast at 9:45) If you arrive late for church (Don’t beat yourself up about it.) and the front doors are locked, the first door on the side will be open. Climb the stairs and join us.
Sundays – Choral Prayer at the Close of the Day - 8:30 p.m. @ Heinz Chapel. We hope that you will join us for this beautiful, contemplative prayer service. For more information see www.compline.lucpgh.com. There is a guest musician each week who plays a ten minute prelude to the service. This week the guest musician will be Richard Szeremnany, organist.
Wednesdays — Dinner 5 to 7 p.m. @ LUC. It’s a drop-in thing, and it’s FREE! There are always vegetarian options. Menu: Baked Ziti, gralic bread, salad, and a dessert (I'm sure.)
Bible Study, Wednesday, 7pm@ LUC. Remember Dorothy? When she landed in Oz, she got thrown way out of her comfort zone. Sometimes life can throw us into Oz. Over the next five weeks, we'll discuss how our faith can help us cope with the Oz times in our lives.
Will it continue???? Bier und Gott, 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at Fuel & Fuddle (212 Oakland Ave.), 8:30 p.m. That’s beer and God in German. Lutheran’s have a long tradition of gathering around tables, drinking beer, and talking about God. Luther started it! This will be a discussion group for seniors and grad students about God’s work in the world and our response. That’s theology. The LUC will buy some appetizers for the table. You buy your own drinks. There’s no homework and no agenda. Bring your questions and insights.
Thursdays don't seem to be working too well this semester. There needs to be a discussion about the continuance of this program.
Open Hours!! We are definitely open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. If you are wandering by at other times and the lights are on, come on in. There’s a TV, computers, wireless internet, a kitchen, and couches to nap on. Feel free to pray in the chapel or practice your piano skills.
LUC on Facebook There are two LUC Facebook groups that you can participate in: LUC's Official Facebook Group and Russett Burbank Fan Club. Join us and network with LUC friends.
LUC Tie Dyed T-Shirts $10 each. We have had a t-shirt designed for the LUC. They are tie-dyed and on the back of the shirt it says, “Love Sentinel” in a ‘70’s looking font. They’re groovy, baby! We are Love Sentinels because we watch for and announce God’s love wherever we encounter it.
Fair Trade hot drinks and chocolate We have fair trade coffee, tea, hot cocoa and chocolate bars. For fair trade products, the profit goes to the people who produce the goods, not a giant corporation. We’re asking for a $7 donation for any of the four varieties of coffee, a $3 donation for any of the teas or chocolate bars and a $5 donation for the organic hot cocoa.
